The first thing we will put on our Plants of Interest page is Cannas Roots. In zone 8, we can leave them in the ground all winter. That is true for zone 7, 8 and up. If it gets extremely cold mulch well with leaves or some other organic matter. These will not be offered year-round. Now we just received a new shipment of roots (bareroot) and thats how they will be sold. They will not be available for long because they will have to be planted.

This beautiful yellow blooming canna is Richard Wallace. It is sold as a dwarf although I have seen it get to 5 ft. when it fertilized heavy. Apple green foliage, big leaves, very tropical in apperance, the yellow blooms are a delight all summer. Three big bloom heads to the stalk and with cutting back the old stalks, you will have a tropical show all summer. This is one of the most reliable cannas in commerce.
Maudie Malcom is a beautiful rose- pink canna. The petals are full and slightly ruffled giving her a rich delicate apperance. With large green leaves and these scrumptious blooms what more could you ask for a tropical delight. The height is about 3 feet tall and very neat. Cannas are one of the best plants to give your garden a lush appearance.
Tropical Sunrise is a very exotic looking canna. Shades of apricot and pink blend into one fabulous tropical confection. Every bloom is different and prettier than the last one. The blooms are displayed above dark green foliage that grows about 3 ft.tall. Add this lush beauty to your garden.
Bat Face Heather is a delightful summer plant and one of my alltime favorites. So much color. It is root hardy in zone 8. The little blooms of red and purple are such a delight all summer. If you have hummers, they will fight you for it. It makes a beautiful basket, container or just a bright spot in the border. Your friends and neighbors will want to know what that is. It needs full sun, water and fertilizer to get the best bloom. We love to grow it in the borders and in big containers.
